Physics & Astronomy Quality Home

Welcome to the space flight quality program (web home) at The University of Iowa Department of Physics and Astronomy.

The University of Iowa Department of Physics & Astronomy (UI P&A) has developed a Quality Management System (QMS) compliant to ISO 9001:2015 Standard as it applies to our development of spaceflight scientific instrumentation. The UI P&A QMS provides an important means to assure customer satisfaction by continually improving processes to develop products that meet or exceed customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

Tandem Reconnection and Cusp Electrodynamics Reconnaissance Satellites

The overarching mission goal of the TRACERS mission is: To connect the magnetospheric cusp to the magnetopause – discovering how spatial or temporal variations in magnetic reconnection drive cusp dynamics.

This project involves building a fluxgate magnetometer as part of the TRACERS mission.
